Dr. Jeffrey Berzon, Diplomate, A.C.V.S. 

Dr. Berzon received his veterinary degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and did his surgical residency at the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell, where he also served as an assistant professor of surgery.  He is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and has authored a chapter in a well known surgical textbook and several surgical articles in veterinary journals.


 


Dr. Kenneth Knaack, Diplomate, A.C.V.I.M. 
Dr. Knaack  graduated from the The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine.  Before moving to Connecticut, Dr. Knaack was medical director at Southshore Veterinary Hospital in South Weymouth, Massachusettes.  One of only a few practicing boarded internists in Connecticut, Dr. Knaack's interests include neurology, neuroendocrinology, endocrinology, endoscopy and ultrasonography.  He is also certified in veterinary acupuncture. 

  

 

Dr. Harlan Gustafson

Dr. Gustafson is a graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he completed both his undergraduate and veterinary medicine degrees.  He manages the provision of routine services at Veterinary Specialists and has special interests in otology as well as exotic companion mammals.

 

 

 

Dr. Kimberly Maier

 Dr. Maier is a graduate of Tufts University College of Veterinary Medicine, and completed her internship at the former Rowley Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Mass.  Before joining Veterinary Specialists, Kim practiced both general medicine and surgery and emergency care in several veterinary practices throughout Connecticut. 

 

 

                       

                        

Dr. Deidre Galbo

 Dr. Galbo, a graduate of Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, comes to us after serving 8 years as senior clinician of general and emergency medicine at Angell Memorial - Western New England (formerly Rowley Memorial Hospital) in Springfield, MA.  Deidre's primary interest is dermatology, but she also enjoys feline medicine, pediatric preventative medicine and obesity and weight management.

                         

             

                             

   Dr. Steve Leshem, Diplomate, A.C.V.S.

   Dr. Leshem received his veterinary degree from Tufts University in 2000. He completed a one year rotating internship in medicine and surgery with us in 2000. After spending several years in general practice in Colorado, he completed a surgical internship in Nevada. Dr. Leshem then completed his surgical residency at Iowa State University. He is Board Certified in surgery and published. 

 

 

                  

   Dr. Mary Zee                   

   Dr. Zee is a graduate of the Royal Veterinary College in London, United Kingdom. After completing her internship at Veterinary Specialists,  Dr. Zee  was in private practice for two years in North Windham, CT.   Dr.Zee enjoys all aspects of general practice, but focuses on dentistry and client education.

 

 

 

Drs. Ladan Karimian, Chelsea Pomeroy and Eloise Stikeman 

 this years wonderful interns.  Our interns are graduated, fully licensed veterinarians who have chosen to continue their education with us to improve their medical and surgical skills in a private practice environment and get real world experience.
